FOCUS ON THE FALCONS
Bowling Green and third-year head coach Lindsay Basalyga returns 10 starters and a total of 16 letterwinners from last year's team and added a redshirt-freshman and 10 new Falcons in the 2015 recruiting class. Despite the loss of only four letterwinners from a year ago, BGSU is still stacked with youth as 19 members of the 27 players on the 2015 roster are either sophomores or freshmen. However, of the Falcons' 15 total goals last season, 13 were recorded by a total of eight returners on the roster this season. BGSU also returns starting goalkeeper Lauren Cadel, who led the MAC and was third among all NCAA Division I goalkeepers with a BGSU single-season record 146 saves in 2014.
PREVIEW OF DETROIT
The Detroit Titans opened their 2015 season with a 3-2 double overtime loss at home against the University of Toledo Aug. 21. Detroit held a 1-0 advantage at the half and made it 2-0 early in the second, but Toledo answered with two goals of their own in the second period of play. Still scoreless after the first overtime, the Rockets scored the game-winning goal off a corner kick just one minute into the second overtime. A week later, Detroit defeated Ohio University 2-0, scoring both of its goals in the opening period. This past Sunday, the Titans fell to in-state foe Michigan, 3-0. Detroit sits at 1-2-0 heading into the matchup with the Falcons.
FALCONS VERSUS THE TITANS ON THE PITCH
The Falcons are 3-7-0 all-time versus the Titans, dating back to the 1998 season.
COACH'S COMMENTS
"We are looking forward to playing a midweek game against a good Detroit team. We are hoping to build on the ideas we've been training in the attacking half of the game, and get more disciplined on the defensive side of the ball. Each game just provides us an opportunity to grow as we prepare for the start of MAC play in another few weeks." --Head Coach Lindsay Basalyga

LAST TIME OUT: MOREHEAD STATE RECAP
BGSU suffered its first loss of the season in a hard-fought 2-1 overtime defeat Friday evening at Morehead State in the Falcons' first road contest of the season. The Eagles earned the victory in the 99th minute of play, following an aggressive match as evidenced by each team receiving a yellow card during the match. That goal came after each team scored in a five-minute stretch of the second half to break a scoreless tie. Cadel recorded five saves in the game.
HUBERT'S RETURN
Redshirt freshman Erica Hubert is seeing action for the first time in her BGSU career due to an injury suffered last season. Through three games, she has a team-high five points and has helped the Falcons to a 2-1-0 start to the season, which is the team's best since 2002. Hubert scored her first career goal Aug. 21 in the season opener against Chicago State. She also recorded her first career assist in the 4-0 victory. On Aug. 23 against IPFW, the Welland, Ontario native had a long run down the middle of the field and capitalized on her shot from the top of the box to score her second goal of the season. For her performance in the team's opening two matches, she received her first ever MAC Player of the Week award.
