2015-16 Season Begins As Falcons Head To The Cougar Invitational

Bowling Green, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team opens the 2015-16 season this weekend, heading to Chicago, Ill. for the Cougar Invitational. The Falcons will begin play on Friday, Sept. 11 and conclude play on Sunday, Sept. 13.
Teams scheduled to participate in the invite include Lewis, Bradley and Oakland, in addition to the Falcons and host Chicago State.
Olga Elkin begins her second season as head coach for the Falcons, assisted by Stephanie Dalmacio.
"They have worked hard over the summer and we were able to continue where we left off at the end of last season," Elkin said. "I am excited to see the team compete this weekend."
Elkin's seven-player roster includes one senior, two juniors, one sophomore and three freshmen. Senior Drew Fillis (who is returning after missing most of 2014-15 due to injury), juniors Antonina Farrar and Leeah Floyd, sophomore Emily Witt and freshmen Paula Comella Aguilo, Marina Ferrero and Polina Radeva.

The Falcons will host the BGSU Invitational Sept. 18 -19 followed by the UIC Invite Oct. 2 - Oct. 3 (Chicago, Ill.) and ITA Regionals Oct. 22 - Oct. 27 (Ann Arbor, Mich.) this fall.Â
