Allendale, Mich. – Senior Kera Lamotte set a new school record in the 300 and Tiera Parker won the long jump at the Bob Eubanks Open, hosted by Grand Valley State, Friday.
"It was great to walk away with a school record today," BGSU Track and Field coach Lou Snelling said. "We will continue to build on this momentum next week when we return home for the Tom Wright Open."
Lamotte ran the 300 in 40.56 seconds, breaking the school record of 40.70 seconds, set by Brittany Sinclair in 2015. She shattered her previous career-best in the event of 41.86 seconds, which she posted in December of 2013.
Bowling Green's throwers and distance runners did not compete at the meet, but the Falcons still posted strong performance and numerous career bests across the remainder of the events.
Parker won the long jump with a distance of 18-9.25, while teammate Kyla Paster was runner up with a personal best 18-8.5. Raven Porter also had a personal best in the event at 18-0.25.
Taylor Rambo ran a season-best 57.82 seconds in the 400, while Alicia Arnold ran the 200 for the first time this year, placing sixth overall with a strong time of 24.89.
Bowling Green returns home for its final home meet of the indoor season Friday night when the Falcons host the Tom Wright Open at 5 pm in Perry Field House.
