PREVIEW OF BALL STATE
With its eight-match unbeaten streak, the Cardinals are off to a 7-0-1 start in the 2016 campaign, which sets Ball State at the top of the MAC West standings. The Cardinals also rank first in shots, as they have taken 221 this season for an average of 15.79 per game, goals against average (0.61) and have recorded eight shutouts this season. Ball State was most recently tested when they traveled to Central Michigan and settled a 0-0 double overtime tie, a team that the Falcons recently fell to in a narrow 2-1 overtime final.
In goal for the Cardinals is junior Tristin Stuteville, who tops the MAC in goals against average (0.40) and save percentage (.895) across five games played this season. Stuteville has also only sacrificed two goals against all season and has a hand in three of Ball State's shutouts. The Cardinals' offense is just as skilled as its defense, as three different players each tally four goals apiece, while another two have each marked three goals on the season, ultimately leading to a total of 24 goals for, and have held the opponents to just nine goals against.
FALCONS VERSUS THE CARDINALS ON THE PITCH
BGSU is 3-12-3 all-time against Ball State on the pitch. Last season, the game was held at home in Cochrane Stadium, although the Falcons fell to the Cardinals in a 1-0 final on Sept. 27, 2015.Â

LAST WEEK'S WRAP UP
Despite a push early in the second half, the Bowling Green women's soccer team fell to Eastern Michigan in Mid-American Conference play at home last Thursday night. In the 2-1 loss, freshman Maureen Kennedy capitalized off of a free kick to earn her third goal of the seasonThe shot was the only one the freshman took all night, and was one of the Falcons seven attempted over the 90 minutes of play.
Then on Sunday, the Falcons fell in a tight overtime 2-1 final to Central Michigan. The pair of MAC rivals were scoreless until just over 10 minutes remained in regulation time, before the Falcons took the lead 1-0. Kennedy earned her fourth goal of the season off of a penalty kick opportunity at 79:36 into the matchup. It was the second penalty kick for the Falcons this season, and Kennedy was successful in the first one as well. Standing out at the backlines for the Falcons was freshman goalkeeper Kathleen Duwve, who notched 11 saves on the day. The Sylvania, Ohio native faced 23 shots by the Chippewas and earned herself an .846 save percentage over the course of 99:50 minutes of play. Duwve's 11 saves marks a new career-high for the freshman, topping her former season-high of nine saves, tallied at Navy on Sept. 11.
