Baseball To Begin Annual Orange And Brown World Series Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team will begin its annual Orange and Brown World Series on Saturday (Oct. 15) afternoon at Steller Field. The first game of the series is slated for a noon first pitch. Fans are encouraged to attend all games, and entry will be free of cost.
All games of the best-of-five series will last five innings, and be played at Steller Field. The program staged its draft yesterday, where all players were placed on teams. Assistant Coach Ryan Shay will be the manager for Team Orange, while Volunteer Assistant Dallas Burke will serve as the manager for Team Brown.
With the first overall pick in the draft, Dallas Burke selected Jeff Scott. The rest of the Brown team is as follows: Nick Glanzman, Cam Daugherty, Axel Bueter, Zach Honsberger, Mitchell Schneider, Blake Jenkins, Randy Righter, Colton Flaherty, Nick Piazza, Kody Brown, Wes Rickenberg, Nathan Lohmeier, Brad Croy, Tyson Schnitkey and Trevor Farrell.
Ryan Shay selected R.J. Williams with his first selection. The rest of the Orange team is as follows: Riley Minorik, Justin Mott, Ty Suntken, Derek Drewes, Jake Wilson, Joe McGuinness, Greg Basalyga, Logan Giddings, Tyler Anderson, Tony Landi, Chandler Stillings, Addison Rospert and Mat Szabo.
There are a few players that are not at 100 percent health, and will be placed on teams if they are able to play. The pitching matchup for Game 1 will feature Tyler Anderson (Orange) and Kody Brown (Brown).
