Roos and her staff -- which is comprised of assistant coaches Jacey Brooks, Nick Moore and Jessie Ivey, director of operations Monique Rosati and video coordinator Heidi Schlegel -- are just over a month away from the team's exhibition game at the Stroh. The group of returnees includes a trio of seniors in Rachel Konieczki, Abby Siefker and Ashley Tunstall. The junior class includes Rachel Myers and Haley Puk, while Maddie Cole, Sydney Lambert and Carly Santoro comprise the sophomore class.
The eight active returnees are joined by four freshmen, including Andrea Cecil, Clare Glowniak, Caterrion Thompson and Jane Uecker. The entire team got a jump-start on the '16-17 season with a trip to Cuba in mid-August, as the Falcons were able to practice prior to the trip, then play three games while on the foreign tour.
Falcon fans will get their first chance to see the 2016-17 team in action on Saturday, Nov. 5, when Ferris State comes to the Stroh Center for a 12:00 p.m. exhibition. The regular season begins the following weekend, with BGSU heading to Eastern Kentucky for a Nov. 11 contest, and the home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 15, vs. Cincinnati.
The non-conference schedule includes five other home games, with Virginia and Cleveland State among the Stroh Center visitors, and trips to Louisville, Virginia Tech and South Dakota State. The Louisville game is BGSU's first of four contests in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Challenge, which will see the Falcons play three total games while in Louisville and an additional contest in Springfield, Mass.
The 18-game MAC schedule begins on Dec. 31, when the Falcons host defending MAC regular-season champion Ohio.
Women's basketball season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the BGSU Ticket Office at 877-BGSU-TICKET or by visiting the Falcon Ticket Zone at BGSUFalcons.com.
