PREVIEW OF EASTERN MICHIGAN
The Eagles started the 2016 season against some difficult opponents in Iowa, Minnesota, and Oregon State. The Eagles were able to defeat Oregon State 2-1 with a late goal by senior Michelle Rollins. Eastern Michigan has started off slow in Mid-American Conference play; most recently they had a dramatic overtime game against Miami in which they fell just short in a 3-2 final. The Eagles are led by redshirt senior Ellie Tillar who has three goals on the year and is also tied for the team's lead in assists with three. In goal for the Eagles is sophomore Kaylin Williams who has recorded two shutouts and allows 1.97 goals per game with a .662 save percentage. The Eagles are second in the MAC in corner kicks with 28 and fourth in total shots with 47.
FALCONS VERSUS THE EAGLES ON THE PITCH
BGSU is 9-13-1 all-time against Eastern Michigan University on the pitch. Last season, the game was held at Scicluna Field in Ypsilanti, Michigan where the Falcons downed the Eagles in a 2-1 final on Oct. 29, 2015.Â
PREVIEW OF CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Chippewas sit on top of the conference by averaging 5.17 points per game, by an average of a MAC-leading 1.83 assists per game off of 22 total assists. Central Michigan has also tallied six shutouts of the season thus far, and rank second overall with just nine total goals allowed. Defensively, the Chippewas have the second-best goals against average in the conference of 0.73 with thanks to goalkeeper Kristen Knutson, who individually marks a 0.67 average by allowing just eight balls to get past her. CMU is coming off of a heartbreaking double overtime 0-0 tie with Ball State, and will look to rebound on Thursday as they host Toledo in MAC play.
