Ohio Pulls Away From BGSU In Second Half

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University football team dropped a 48-30 decision at Doyt L. Perry Stadium on Saturday (Oct. 14) afternoon. Bowling Green trailed by just five points at halftime, but Ohio scored 27 second-half points to pull away with the win.
Bowling Green drops to 1-6 (1-2 MAC) on the season with the loss, while Ohio improves to 5-2 (2-1 MAC) on the season with the victory. Yards were very even on the day, as Ohio had a slight 440-421 advantage in total offense. However, Ohio took advantage of four Bowling Green turnovers.

OFFENSE
- Bowling Green outgained Ohio through the air by a 192-105 margin.
- James Morgan's lone touchdown pass on the day was a 10-yard strike to Hunter Folkertsma, which gave the Falcons a 23-21 lead late in the third quarter.
- Andrew Clair, a week after rushing for 100-plus yards at Miami, rushed for a career-best 148 yards on 18 carries. Clair also scored a career-best two touchdowns.
- Josh Cleveland added 84 yards on 22 carries.
- Scott Miller led the Falcons with six receptions for 95 yards, including a 69-yard reception in the fourth quarter that set up a touchdown.
- The Bowling Green defense held Ohio quarterback Nathan Rourke to 105 passing yards, as he completed just 7-of-22 passes.
- The Falcons also forced Rourke into two interceptions.
- Bowling Green's leading tacklers, Fred Garth and Marcus Milton, also had the two inceptions for the Orange and Brown.
- Garth recorded his first-career interceptions, and also led the Falcons with eight tackles.
- Milton, who had seven tackles, also registered an interception for the BGSU defense.
- Gus Schwieterman, Shannon Smith and Brandon Harris posted six tackles apiece.
- Schwieterman had a tackle for loss, while Kholbe Coleman and Nico Lautanen added a half tackle for loss.
- Cam Jefferies notched a game-high three pass breakups.
- Jake Suder went a perfect 3-for-3 on field goal attempts. Suder made kicks from 42, 34 and 32 yards out.
- Four of Nick Fields' seven kickoffs went for touchbacks.
- Joe Davidson, who had four of his five punts downed inside the 20, averaged 47.0 yards per punt. He racked up 235 yards on five punts.
