Falcons Conclude Fall Schedule At Dayton Flyer Invitational

BGSU SEASON STATISTICS
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team concludes its fall schedule this week at the Dayton Flyer Invitational. The 36-hole tournament, which will take place over Oct. 16-17, is being hosted by the University of Dayton. The tournament is being staged at the NCR Country Club.
BGSU AT THE DAYTON FLYER INVITATIONAL
* The tournament will begin with 18 holes (two rounds) on Monday, Oct. 16, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
* Bowling Green competed at the Dayton Flyer Invitational last season, as well. The Falcons carded a 635 to finish sixth.
* BGSU has not played in a 36-hole tournament this season.
THE FIELD
* The Dayton Flyer Invitational, including Bowling Green, will have a total of 14 teams in the field.
* The 14-school field includes: Fort Wayne, Western Illinois, Central Michigan, Findlay, Oakland, Eastern Illinois, Butler, Bowling Green, Detroit Mercy, Ohio Northern, Purdue, Northern Kentucky, IUPUI, Dayton (hosts).

BGSU PLACES SECOND AT THE SHIRLEY SPOKE
* BGSU's 912 for the tournament, while also being a season low, is the fifth best 54-hole score in program history.
* The Orange and Brown carded a 600 through the first 36-holes holes, which is tied for the second best mark in school history.
* Bowling Green's season-low, round-two 298 ranks tied for eighth all-time for 18 holes.
* The 298 was also the second lowest round over the entire tournament.
* The Falcons led the field with a 3.18 scoring average on par threes.
FALCONS WIN THE KZOO CLASSIC
* Over Oct. 2-3, Bowling Green finished in first place at the KZoo Classic, as the Falcons ran away with the title, finishing the 54-hole tournament 20 strokes ahead of the next closest competitor.
* The win for BGSU was its first team championship since the 2016 Snowman Classic.
* The win for BGSU was its first fall team championship since the 2015 Redbird Invitational.
* BGSU carded a season-low 915, which is the program's seventh best 54-hole mark.
* Erin Fahey led the way for the Falcons, as she captured her first-career individual title by shooting a season-low 224.
THE FALCONS AT THE MARY FOSSUM INVITATIONAL
* The Falcons finished ahead of MAC foes Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan
* The Falcons shot a 945 (302, 320, 323, +35) on the tournament to finish in eighth place
* Sammi Blackburn recorded a hole-and-one on the par three No. 9 in the first round.
BGSU COMPETES AT THE CARDINAL CLASSIC
* The Falcons shot a total team score of 923 (+59) for the 54-hole event, finishing tied for 14th out of 19 schools.
* For the tournament, Bowling Green carded 28 birdies, which was more than eight schools.
* Julia Durkin posted a career-low 224, shattering her previous 54-hole low of 243.
* Durkin set 18-hole career lows by shooting a 73 in round two and a 72 in round three. Heading into the event, Durkin's 18-hole low was a 77.
FALCONS OPEN THE SEASON AT THE REDBIRD INVITATIONAL
* Bowling Green posted a team score of 921 (306, 311, 304, +57) to finish fourth of 12 programs.
* Erin Fahey registered a 221 to finish in third place.
* Nichole Cox's round-three 70 is tied for the fourth best round ever in school history. There have only been three scores in program history better than Cox's 70.
