Seimet Claims Fifth MAC Defensive Player of the Week Honor

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After a 51 dig weekend, junior libero Kallie Seimet was awarded her fifth Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the East Division. Seimet leads the team with 451 total digs, and continues to lead the nation at 6.73 digs per set.

A native of Oregon, Ohio, Seimet recorded 30 digs in Friday's 3-1 victory over Buffalo, posting her fifth 30+ dig match of the season, including her third in six league contests thus far. The junior continued to lead the Falcons as she tallied 21 digs in the 3-0 sweep of Akron, making it her 13th 20+ dig match of the season.

Siemet's defensive game has helped lift the Falcons to a five-match win streak, and lead the Mid-American Conference outright with a 5-1 league mark. With her five honors, Seimet has also helped Bowling Green claim six of the seven MAC Defensive Player of the Week titles this season.

In the 2017 campaign, Seimet tallies a total of 451 digs, which ranks second nationally of all Division I women's volleyball. The mark nears her career-high of 491 she set in her freshman season, while the MAC honor is the fifth of her career.
