Falcons Put A Wrap On Drake Relays

Des Moines, Iowa β The Bowling Green State University track and field team concluded a busy weekend as four members of the throws team competed at the Drake Relays Saturday.

The Falcons entered two competitors each in the hammer throw and the shot put. In the hammer, freshman Kaila Butler placed 10th overall with a toss of 183-feet-7 (55.97m). It was Butler's best throw since winning the event in the team's dual meet against Toledo April 7. Senior Kayla Velasquez finished 16th at 178-1.

In the shot put, redshirt junior Aliyah Gustafson was seventh with a throw of 48-6.75 (14.80m). Senior Makenzie Wheat was 17th at 43-11.25.

The Falcons will close the regular season next weekend at the Toledo Invitational Thursday and Friday. BGSU will then compete in the MAC Championships the following weekend.
