Seimet Earns Second Consecutive MAC Player of the Week Recognition

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After marking a career-high 36 dig match in the 3-2 victory over Northern Kentucky, junior libero Kallie Seimet was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

A native of Oregon, Ohio, Seimet has now been recognized with the award in back-to-back weeks after her performances in both the BGSU-Toledo and NKU Invitationals. This past weekend, Seimet set a new career-high when she tallied 36 digs in the 3-2 victory over host Northern Kentucky, surpassing her previous career-high of 34 was set on Oct. 30, 2015 against Kent State.

Earlier in the day on Saturday, Seimet also marked her fifth 20+ dig match of the season when she posted a team-high of 22 against Seattle U, and after eight matches played this season, Seimet has marked 20+ digs against six of her opponents. Additionally, Seimet tallied two aces and a total of 20 assists, including a season-high of seven on two occasions, making her a well-rounded presence on the court for the Falcons while in Highland Heights, Ky.

In the 2017 campaign, Seimet has now marked 186 digs and averages 5.81 digs per set. This is Seimet's second MAC Player of the Week honor of her career.
