In the first round, she shot an even-par 72. Nichole Cox (156, +12) is tied for 23rd, while Sammi Blackburn recorded a hole-in-one on the ninth hole of the first round.
"What an exciting round for our freshmen ... Sammi Blackburn! She had a hole in one on No. 9, and backed it up with a chip-in birdie on the next. It was so special for our coaching staff and her family to be there to see it, too," said head coach Stephanie Young. "We came out really strong this morning. I am proud of the players for executing their game plans with confidence. However, we were not able to reach our team goals this afternoon. We look forward to having another round tomorrow.
"We saw outstanding play today from our captain, Erin Fahey. She stayed composed over the course of the day to make it in at -2, which is a career low!"
