Bowling Green Concludes Fall Season At MAC Fall Preview

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University women's golf program concludes its fall schedule at the Mid-American Conference Fall Preview over Oct. 14-15. The Central Michigan-hosted event is taking place at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana – the same location in which the 2018 MAC Championships will be played at.

BGSU AT THE MAC FALL PREVIEW
• The tournament commences with 36 holes on Sunday, Oct. 14, beginning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The event will end with 18 holes on Monday, Oct. 15. The Monday round will get going with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
• The 12-team field is as follows: Central Michigan (hosts), Cleveland State, Ball State, Ohio, Akron, Eastern Michigan, Belmont, Western Michigan, Xavier, Bowling Green, Toledo and Purdue Fort Wayne.
• The Purgatory Golf Club is a par-72, 6,125-yard course.

FALCONS WIN SHIRLEY SPORK INVITATIONAL
• Bowling Green enters the event fresh off a victory at the 2018 Shirley Spork Invitational. BGSU's 36-hole team score of 592 set a new school record, breaking the previous record of 594, which was set at the 2013-14 Great Smokies Intercollegiate.
• The team championship for Bowling Green was the 24th in school history, and 11th under current head coach Stephanie Young. Bowling Green has now won at least one team title in seven-straight seasons.
• Bowling Green won the 10-team tournament by 23 strokes. Jessica Madry won the individual championship by three strokes.
MADRY NAMED MAC GOLFER OF THE WEEK
• After earning the first individual championship of her collegiate career at the 2018 Shirley Spork Invitational, Jessica Madry was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week. The conference office announced Madry's recognition on Thursday, Oct. 11.
• Madry shot a 141 to break the 36-hole school record on her way to a three-stroke victory at the 2018 Shirley Spork Invitational (Oct. 8-9). Madry opened the tournament with a career-low 71, and then the following day, topped that career low by carding a final-round 70. Of the 62 golfers at the event, Madry was the only one to shoot below par, let alone three-under par.
• The junior led the entire field in birdies (8) and par-three scoring (2.63), as she became the 18th player in school history to earn an individual title.
