RIO VERDE, Ariz. – The Bowling Green State University women's golf program finished off play at the Rio Verde Invitational on Sunday (Feb. 25) afternoon. For the second-straight day, Bowling Green significantly improved its team score.

The Falcons moved up one the leaderboard on the final day to finish the tournament in 13th place. After shooting a 321 on Friday, the Falcons posted rounds of 316 (Saturday) and 306 (Sunday) to conclude the tournament.

Bowling Green (943) finished ahead of UMKC (947), Illinois State (960), and a pair of MAC schools in Ohio (963) and Central Michigan (972). Seton Hall shot a 902 to win the invitational.

Junior Erin Fahey led the way for the Falcons, carding a 224 for the tournament in finish tied for seventh. For Fahey, the finish marked the 10th top-10 finish in her career. Freshman Nichole Cox carded her best score of the tournament on the day, as she shot a 78 to finish tied for 56th.

Freshman Sammi Blackburn also finished strong, as she improved her 18-hole score each day, ultimately shooting a 78 on the final round to finish tied for 70th.

Junior Sarah Kern turned in a phenomenal effort on the day, scoring a 75 – just one stroke off her career high. Kern improved her 18-hole score each round, as well. Furthermore, sophomore Jessica Madry posted a 77 on the day, which was her best round of the tournament.
