TROPHY, Texas – After one day of action, the Bowling Green State University women's golf program is near the top of the team and individual leaderboards at the ORU/SFA Spring Break Shootout. First round play of the seven-school event wrapped up on Monday (March 19) afternoon.

The tournament is being staged at The Trophy Club in Trophy, Texas. The event is being co-hosted by Oral Roberts and Stephen F. Austin State University.

Bowling Green is tied with Florida Atlantic for fourth place. BGSU carded a round-one 324. The Falcons are just 10 shots off the lead. Northern Iowa sits in first place after scoring a 314.

Individually, Erin Fahey sits just two shots off the lead after carding a 77. Fahey is currently in third place, while Jessica Madry, who registered a 78, is tied for fifth. Madry led the Falcons with two birdies on the day.

Nichole Cox (81), Sarah Kern (82) and Sammi Blackburn (84) are all within nine strokes of the 18-hole leader. Julia Durkin (90) rounds out the Bowling Green lineup.
