BGSU Opens ORU/SFA Spring Break Shootout Monday

DALLAS, Texas -- The Bowling Green State University women's golf team continues its spring schedule next week at the ORU/SFA Spring Break Shootout. The invitational, which is being hosted at The Trophy Club in Dallas, Texas, is scheduled to take place March 19-21.

THE FIELD
• The three-day event is being co-hosted by Oral Roberts University and Stephen F. Austin State University.
• The eight-team field consists of the following schools: Oral Roberts, Stephen F. Austin State, Northern Iowa, Creighton, Bowling Green, Baylor, Florida Atlantic and UT-Arlington.

BGSU AT THE ORU/SFA SPRING BREAK SHOOTOUT
• The Falcons have competed in the event in each of the past two seasons.
• In 2016-17, the Falcons carded a team score of 947 to finish in fourth place.
• In 2015-16, BGSU registered a 901 to finish in sixth place.

SPRING SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN
• After a very successful fall season, the Falcons have competed in two events in the spring.
• The Falcons started off by hosting the Mid-American Match Play Challenge in Lakewood Ranch, Florida over Feb. 5-6. BGSU went 1-1 on the first day, before going 0-2 on the second day.
• Across Feb. 23-25, the Falcons traveled to Rio Verde, Arizona to participate in the Rio Verde Invitational. BGSU carded a 943 team score to finish 13 out of 17 schools. Erin Fahey paced the Falcons with an impressive seventh-place finish, as she scored 224 over three rounds.
• Bowling Green is scheduled to host the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at Stone Ridge Golf Club from April 7-8.
• BGSU will then conclude the season by traveling to Naperville, Illinois to compete in the MAC Championships (April 20-22).
