
Elizabeth Iversen Vaults Into Contention For Shot Put National Championship Bid

Allendale, Mich. – Bowling Green State University senior Elizabeth Iversen posted a massive personal best in the shot put and vaulted herself into contention for one of 16 bids to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. Iversen's throw of 54-feet-11.25 (16.74m) places her in the top 15 in the country and is almost four feet further than she had ever thrown before.
Iversen's effort was the highlight of a day that saw the Falcons earn nine personal bests as the team continued to position itself for a strong contingent at the MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in two weeks.

The Shot Put
- Elizabeth Iversen and Aliyah Gustafson took part in the invitational field for the shot put.
- Although Gustafson entered the meet ranked No. 4 nationally in the event and has virtually locked a bid to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, Iversen stole the show.
- Iversen threw 54-feet-11.25 (16.74m) and edged Gustafson (54-1 / 16.48m) for top results among active collegiate competitors.
- With the top 16 collegians qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, Iversen climbed almost 30 spots to No. 15 in the country.
- Iversen entered the meet with a career-best throw of 51-2.75. All six of her throws exceeded that distance.
- Gustafson still ranks No. 1 in the MAC and Iversen is second. No other MAC student-athlete has thrown further than 51-1 this year.
Brown, Draper Dominate In The 400
- Sophomore Chasatea Brown and freshman Ryen Draper moved to fourth and fifth in school history in the 400.
- Brown ran the 400 in 56.65 seconds while Draper was just behind at 56.70.
- The time was Brown's new personal best by almost .5 seconds and it was Draper's personal best by more than a full second.
- Brianna Tidmore added a season-best time of 58.56 seconds in the event and was the third-fastest of six Falcons in the event.
Other Performances
- BeJai Fray set a new personal best in the 60 hurdles at 9.08 seconds, trimming .13 seconds off her previous fastest time.
- Senior Dorresha Green posted the team's fastest time in the 60 at 7.78 seconds, but Chasatea Brown tied her PR at 7.87 and Ryen Draper set a new PR at 7.93 seconds.
- Rachel Stute's time of 2:17.83 is a new personal best.
- Rachel Durbin recorded a season-best time of 5:00.71 in the mile and Jessi Lindstrom trimmed almost seven seconds off her previous time in the event at 5:02.57.
- In the longest event in indoor track and field, Elena Lancioni cut 15 seconds off her 5,000 personal best with a time of 17:31.29.
- Cortisha Short posted a time of 25.11 seconds in the 200, marking a season-best time.
- The 1600 relay team of Brown, Savannah Nevels, Peyton Lee and Draper were three seconds faster than any BGSU relay team this year, finishing in 3:51.84.
