GAME-CHANGING FOURTH INNING
• Bowling Green scored five runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-1 lead. All five runs came after there were two outs and nobody on base.
• Randy Righter started the fun with a no-doubt home run to left field, which was his second home run on the day.
• After a Derek Drewes single and a Jeff Scott walk, Dylan Dohanos shot an RBI single into left field.
• BGSU's next batter, Nick Neibauer, proceeded to launch a moon shot of a home run to right field. Neibauer's three-run home run gave the Falcons a 6-1 lead. The home was the first in Neibauer's career.
Â
TACKING ON
• Bowling Green scored two runs apiece in both the sixth and seventh innings.
• The sixth-inning rally was especially important, as Eastern Michigan had just scored two runs in the top of the frame to pull within three runs at 6-3.
• Randy Righter came around to score on a passed ball after he started the inning with a double. Ty Suntken then gave the Falcons an 8-3 lead with an RBI ground out.
• In the seventh, Jake Wilson scored on an error before Brad Croy drove in a run with an RBI ground out.
Â
STRONG DAY FOR THE PITCHING STAFF
• David Stopp got the start for the Falcons, and turned in a tremendous effort. Stopp stuck out a career-high six batters over 3.1 innings of work. He allowed just two hits and one unearned run.
• Damon Egnor picked up the win by tossing 2.0 innings of two-run ball.
• Chandler Stillings recorded a key strikeout, before Brad Croy finished the job on the mound.
• In total, Croy worked the final 3.1 innings of the game. He fanned three batters, and did not allow a run to score. He earned his fourth save of the season in the process.
