BGSU Faces Kent State In Non-Conference Game On Tuesday
April 02, 2018 | Baseball
KENT, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team hits the road to face Kent State University on Tuesday (April 3) in a non-conference matchup. The game marks the first of five scheduled meetings between the two schools in 2018. The contest is scheduled for a 4 p.m. first pitch from Olga Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium.
Bowling Green is scheduled to host the Golden Flashes for another non-conference matchup on April 17 at Steller Field. Over May 4-6, the Falcons will return to Schoonover Stadium for a Mid-American Conference three-game series.
"These non-conference games with other MAC schools have been great for us," said head coach Danny Schmitz. "We get to play a quality opponent, and it just makes a lot of sense geographically for us. Kent State is obviously a great program, as well, so this will be a great test for us, and will prepare us for another tough weekend coming up at Miami."
After the first two weekends of conference play, the Falcons sit at 3-3. The Falcons opened up conference play with a series victory over Ohio, before dropping last weekend's series to Eastern Michigan. BGSU owns an overall record of 8-19. Kent State enters play at 15-9.
