WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?
- Seemingly every time she steps on the track, sophomore Chasatea Brown has improved her time in the 400 hurdles. She did that once again Saturday, running the event in 1:00.60 to place fourth at the Jesse Owens Classic.
- Not only is the time a personal best for Brown, but she now ranks fifth in school history in the event. The race was the eighth-best performance in program history.
- Brown earned a MAC automatic qualifying bid with the time and only three other student-athletes in the conference had posted a better time heading into the weekend.
- Among BGSU runners in the past 20 years, only Brittany Sinclair, who broke the school record in 2015, has run the 400 hurdles faster than Brown.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- Senior Elizabeth Iversen posted her second personal best in as many days, this time in the shot put. She recorded a mark of 15.60m (51-feet-2.25), a distance that ranks third in the MAC this year and among the top 25 in the East region.
- Sophomore Mis'cha Sellers set personal bests in the 100 and the 200. In the 200, she posted the team's best time at 24.93 seconds. She ran 12.43 seconds in the 100.
- Senior Cortisha Short posted a season-best time in the 100 at 12.12 seconds.
- Freshmen Rickia White and Dajia Young each recorded personal bests. White ran the 400 in 58.54 seconds and Young threw the discus 140-6 (42.82m).
