TOLEDO, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team finished its 2018 season on Friday (May 18) with a doubleheader at the University of Toledo. The Rockets won both ballgames. UT won the first game, 4-0, before claiming the second contest by a score of 3-0.
Bowling Green finishes the 2018 season with an overall record of 11-39. The Falcons went 6-19 in Mid-American Conference play.
"This was not the way that we wanted this season to end," said head coach Danny Schmitz. "I wish our seven seniors nothing but the best moving forward."
Today's doubleheader marked the final games in the careers of Tyler Anderson, Kody Brown, Zac Carey, Derek Drewes, Justin Mott, Wes Rickenberg and Randy Righter.
Pitchers Brown, Carey and Rickenberg did not appear in today's action, while Drewes, Mott and Righter registered at least one hit apiece on the day. Anderson got the start in the second game, and pitched 7.0 fantastic innings, allowing zero earned runs.
