BGSU opens the season Sept. 1 at Oregon for an 8 pm ET kick, televised on the PAC 12 Network. The Falcons will then host Maryland for the home opener Sept. 8 at 6 pm in a game broadcast on ESPN+. Falcon Family Weekend takes place the next week when BGSU hosts Eastern Kentucky Sept. 15 at 4 pm on ESPN3.
Game times were also set for all four of Bowling Green's October games. The Falcons open the month at Toledo for the Battle of I-75 on Oct. 6 at 3:30 pm on ESPN+. One week later, Bowling Green will hold Homecoming against Western Michigan Oct. 13 with a 3 pm kickoff on ESPN+. The Falcons then travel to Ohio for a 2 pm contest with the Bobcats Oct. 20 on ESPN3. BGSU closes the month by hosting Kent State on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 8 pm. That contest will be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
"Within the program, we are excited to host Maryland for a night game inside The Doyt," BGSU Head Coach Mike Jinks said. "We don't know when we will get the chance to host a Big Ten team again and we need the full support of Falcon Nation that evening as we kick off a critical stretch of three straight home games."
In total, the MAC announced 16 games available nationally during the last month of the regular season, slated for ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN+, ESPN3 and CBS Sports Network. The regular season concludes with the 22nd Marathon MAC Football Championship game on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 pm from Ford Field in Detroit.
This year, the MAC will host 10 games against FBS non-conference opponents, including Bowling Green's home contest against Maryland Sept. 8 (the only time a Big Ten school visits a MAC stadium in 2018). The Falcons have not hosted a school from a Power Five conference since defeating Indiana 45-42 in 2014. That victory marked the first win in school history over a Big Ten team in Doyt L. Perry Stadium. BGSU has defeated many Power Five schools in road games, including victories over Purdue and Maryland in recent years.
