Falcons Head To Texas For Bearkat Invitational

MAGNOLIA, Texas – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team continues its fall schedule next week at the Bearkat Invitational. The 54-hole event is being hosted by Sam Houston State University at the Meadow Ranch Golf Course in Magnolia, Texas. The tournament is scheduled for Oct. 1-2.

BOWLING GREEN AT THE BEARKAT INVITATIONAL
• The Bearkat Invitational is a new event on the women's golf team's schedule in 2018-19.
• Meadow Ranch Golf Course is a par-71 course that plays 6,164 yards.
• On both days, play will get going with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. On Monday, Oct. 1, 36 holes will be played. The final 18 holes of action will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
• The 14-team field is listed as following: Sam House State (hosts), Alabama State, Bowling Green, Houston Baptist, Lamar Cardinals, McLennan CC, McNeese State, Oklahoma City University, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Southern, Tyler Junior College, Incarnate Word and Texas-Rio Grande Valley.

• Bowling Green has opened its 2018-19 season with a pair of top-five finishes.
• The Falcons finished in fifth place at the Redbird Invitational (Sept. 9-10) out of 14 schools, before finishing tied for fifth out of 16 institutions at the Cardinal Classic (Sept. 17-18). After carding a 924 to open the season, BGSU posted a 908 last time out at the Cardinal Classic.
• Bowling Green enters the Bearkat Invitational with an overall record of 19-8-1. The Falcons are 5-3 versus Mid-American Conference competition.
