Kallie Seimet Named MAC East Defensive Player Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University senior libero Kallie Seimet has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference today.
Kallie Seimet was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Duquesne Tournament. The Falcons went 2-1 in Pittsburgh to win the tournament. Statistically the best libero in the country a year ago, Seimet had yet another big weekend as she averaged 6.44 digs per set, racking up a total of 65 digs on the week. The senior notched 30 digs in just four sets versus Oakland to begin the week and followed up that performance by averaging 8.00 digs per set at Duquesne. To close out the weekend, Seimet posted 31 digs in a win over Youngstown State and 18 more in a win over UNLV. Seimet is averaging 6.24 digs per set in 2018, which ranks among the top 10 in the country.
The 2017 MAC Player of the Year and MAC Defensive Player of the Year, Seimet garnered seven MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors a year ago. She led the nation with 6.81 digs per set in 2017 and broke four school records, including most digs in a match, most digs in a season, highest digs per set average, and most MAC Player of the Week Awards in a season.
