October 28, 2019 | Men's Soccer
Junior playmaker was involved in the scoring of 5 of BGSU's 7 goals last week
Bowling Green State University men's soccer standout Chris Sullivan has been named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week. The announcement was made by CSN on Monday afternoon (Oct. 28).
Sullivan earns College Soccer News accolades for the first time in his Falcon career.
On Tuesday (Oct. 29), Sullivan earned honorable mention on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week.
Sullivan, a native of Naperville, Ill. (North H.S.), was involved in the scoring of five of BGSU's seven goals last week, as the Falcons posted a pair of shutout wins. Sullivan had a goal and four assists on the week.
Sullivan had the first four-point game of his career, with a goal and a pair of assists in a 4-0 win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday night (Oct. 22). He had the primary assist on BG's second and fourth goals of the night, and curved a free kick over the wall and just inside the far post for the Falcons' third goal.
Then, he had his second consecutive two-assist match as BGSU topped Mid-American Conference foe West Virginia, 3-0, Saturday evening (Oct. 26). Sullivan had assists on both of the Falcons' second-half goals to put the match out of reach.
With his six points on the week, he now has team-leading totals of six goals, nine assists and 21 points on the season, and is the first BG player to top the 20-point mark in four years.
Sullivan has scored a point in six of the last seven games, and in seven of the last nine contests. He has been directly involved in the scoring of nine of BG's last 11 goals.
Sullivan and the Falcons are 9-5-1 on the year, heading into Saturday's (Nov. 2) match at Western Michigan.
