Ayanna Burrell Leaps To MAC Auto Mark In Triple Jump

Muncie, Ind. – Freshman Ayanna Burrell earned a Mid-American Conference automatic qualifying bid in the triple jump as Bowling Green concluded the weekend at the Ball State Challenge Saturday.

BURRELL'S BIG DAY
- Ayanna Burrell established a new personal best with a triple jump mark of 39-feet-4.5 (12.00m). That mark is BGSU's 10th MAC auto qualifying bid of the outdoor season.
- Burrell is now fourth all-time at BGSU in the triple jump, posting the ninth-best single-meet performance in school history.
- Burrell is just two inches shy of passing both Tiera Parker and Kyla Paster for second in school history in the event.
OTHER STRONG PERFORMANCES
- Kelsie Mothersead recorded a season-best time of 11:51.49 in the 3000 steeplechase. That time was almost 15 seconds faster than her previous best in 2019.
- Mis'cha Sellers set a season-best time in the 100 at 12.51 seconds.
- Iyanna Ross finished ninth in the 200 at 24.97 seconds and Jazzlynn Gaiters recorded a personal best time of 25.76 seconds in the distance.
- Chasatea Brown finished third in the 400 hurdles, while Zaresha Neal did the same in the shot put. Ebonie Whitted added a seventh-place finish in the shot put.

- BGSU is scheduled to compete at Virginia's UVa Challenge Friday and Saturday.
