ATHENS, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team erased a 10-point halftime deficit on Saturday (Jan. 11) at Ohio University en route to an 83-74 victory. Guards Justin Turner and Dylan Frye combined for 48 points in the comeback win. The Falcons have now won two-straight conference games after dropping the opener.
For BGSU, the win was the program's first in Athens on a Saturday since Jan. 24, 2009.
Bowling Green is 11-5 (2-1 MAC) on the campaign. With the loss, Ohio drops to 9-7 (1-2 MAC). Turner scored a season-high 29 points, while Frye dropped 19 on the Bobcats. Along with the pair of guards, junior forward Daeqwon Plowden also scored in double figures, as he finished with 10 points.
The Falcons have posted consecutive comeback wins from down 14 points. On Tuesday (Jan. 7), Bowling Green trailed by 14 points in the first half before securing a 78-76 victory.

• Redshirt-junior guard Justin Turner fell one point shy of the fifth 30-point game of his career. His season-high 29 points marked the 31st game of his career with 20-plus points. The 29 points tied for the fifth-best scoring game of his Falcon career.
• Turner tied his career high with 12 made field goals, as he went 12-for-23 from the floor. Turner also made 12 field goals in a 33-point performance at Drexel on Nov. 10, 2017.
• With his 29 points, Turner went over 1,300 points in his career and surpassed Keith Taylor (1981-85 | 1,283) on the all-time scoring list. Turner now ranks 22nd all-time, having scored 1,311 points in 79 games.
• Senior guard Dylan Frye also surpassed 1,300 points in his career on the day. Frye scored 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Frye moved past Don Otten (1942-46) on BGSU's all-time scoring list. He's now tied for 20th with Demajeo Wiggins (2015-19 | 1,316). Frye has scored 1,316 points in 113 games.
• Frye went 2-for-5 from #DeepFrye territory, and has now made multiple triples in the same game a total of 63 times. Frye has made 218 three-pointers as a Falcon, and is now just 11 makes shy of breaking John Reimold's (2002-05 | 228) BGSU record.
• Junior forward Daeqwon Plowden finished with 10 points and four rebounds on 4-of-8 shooting. Plowden entered the season with 15 career double-digit scoring efforts. In 2019-20, he's scored in double figures in 11 games.
• Sophomore center Tayler Mattos contributed with four points, five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal. Mattos tied a career high with two assists. Mattos was 2-for-4 from the floor, and has now shot at least 50.0 percent in four-consecutive games.
• Junior forward Trey Diggs added three points, and drilled his first triple in Mid-American Conference play as a Falcon.
• The Bowling Green bench tripled-up Ohio in scoring. The BGSU bench scored 21 points compared to OU's seven. Off the pine, the Falcons received scoring contributions from Marlon Sierra (7 points), Matiss Kulackovskis (6 points), Dylan Swingle (3 points), Diggs (3 points) and Michael Laster (2 points).
• Sierra established a new career high with nine rebounds. He went 3-for-6 from the floor in 20 minutes. Swingle's three points came on an and-one on BGSU's last possession of the first half.
