Piscataway, N.J. – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team placed third out of four teams Saturday at Rutgers. No. 6 Minnesota posted a winning score of 196.875, followed by the host institution at 194.550. BGSU was third at 191.025, followed by Ursinus with a 184.800.

Junior Alex Fochler took medalist honors on the uneven bars with a score of 9.850, tying Minnesota's Lexi Ramler for the best score of the night. It was just shy of her career high 9.875.

Taylor Worthington equaled Fochler's 9.850 score, doing so on balance beam. She tied for seventh on beam and was just shy of her career-high 9.900. For Worthington, it was her first meet of the season.
Jovannah East posted a pair of 9.825 scores, doing so on beam and floor. On floor, her score was good enough to tie for fourth.
East added a 9.750 on vault and tied for fifth.
Jasmine Jones recorded a personal best 9.675 on floor. It was the first time Jones competed as part of the rotation in 2020.
Freshman Lily Harsch competed in the all-around and earned scores of 9.600 on vault and 9.475 on floor.
As a team, the Falcons scored 48.500 on floor, tying Rutgers for the second-best score of the night on the event. BGSU was third in each of the other three rotations.

UP NEXT

BGSU will have eight days between meets before the Falcons compete in another four-team meet, this time at Ball State. The Falcons will face the Cardinals in a conference meet, along with Wisconsin-La Crosse and Southeast Missouri State.
The Falcons do not return home until Feb. 15 as BGSU will host Illinois State and Temple.
