Lukacsko, Robin, Sullivan to Captain 2020-21 Falcons

Seniors Achille Robin and Chris Sullivan and junior Jensen Lukacsko have been named captains of the Bowling Green State University men's soccer team for the 2020-21 season.
"We are in need of leadership during these uncertain times more than ever before, and our program is fortunate to have three incredible captains," said head coach Eric Nichols. "Each of these guys brings different leadership qualities and styles, but they share a drive, a commitment to excellence and a desire to serve their teammates."
Robin, a native of Les Sables d'Olonne, France, was a key contributor at both ends of the pitch in 2019. From his center-back position, he helped the Falcons keep 11 clean sheets, and at the offensive end of the field, Robin, the lone Falcon to play every second of every match last season, ranked second on the team in both goals and points. Robin had five goals and 14 points on the year, and he tied for second on the Falcons with four assists. His last two goals, on back-to-back Tuesdays, were game-winning tallies, including a 'Golden Goal' vs. Northern Illinois in the MAC Tournament's quarterfinal round. when he converted a 95th-minute penalty kick. Robin was named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week twice on the year, and was chosen to both the All-MAC First Team and the OCSA All-Ohio Team. Robin has played in 35 total matches, starting 32, during his time at BGSU, and has 17 career points in two seasons as a Falcon.
Sullivan, from Naperville, Ill., led the team in goals, assists and points en route to All-MAC Second-Team honors. He had 23 points on seven goals and nine helpers last season. Sullivan, who more than tripled his point total for all of the previous season, was directly involved in nine goals in a 12-goal BG span through the end of September and the entirety of October. Sullivan ended October with six points in a two-game stretch, including back-to-back two-assist games. His final goal of the season proved to be the winner as BGSU downed Akron in the league tournament's semifinal round. He was named to the CSN National Team of the Week for his play in the final week of October, and also was named to the Academic All-MAC and OCSA Academic All-Ohio Teams. Sullivan, who went on to be named a MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete, started all 21 matches last season and has made 47 starts in his career. He has 35 career points on 11 goals and 13 assists.
Lukacsko, a native of Gahanna, Ohio, also started all 21 matches last season, and has played in 38 contests over his first two seasons with the Falcons. An Academic All-MAC selection last fall, he played 1879 of the Falcons' 1916 total minutes on the year, and had one assist. That helper came on a Sullivan goal during the win over Canisius. That goal tied the match at 1-1 in an eventual 4-1 Falcon victory. Lukacsko played every second of each of the season's first 13 matches, finally coming off of the field for the first time late in the Falcons' 14th contest. He was subbed out with under 10 minutes to go and BGSU leading Purdue Fort Wayne, 4-0. Lukacsko was on the pitch for every second of the team's two MAC Tournament wins, over Northern Illinois and Akron. He made 14 starts as a freshman in 2018, playing every second of the Falcons' five MAC matches. Lukacsko has five career points on a goal and three assists, and has helped BGSU keep 15 clean sheets in his first two seasons.

BGSU closed the 2019 season with an overall record of 13-7-1. The Falcons posted a double-digit win total for the first time since 2014 and just the second time since 1998. BGSU more than doubled the team's victory total from the previous year.
The Falcons have a record of 18-9-3 over the last 30 matches.
