JUMP BALL
• The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team wraps up the home portion of the 2019-20 schedule on the final day of February. Head coach Robyn Fralick and the Falcons face Kent State University in Mid-American Conference action on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 29), with tipoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Stroh Center.
TICKETS
THE STARTING FIVE (FIVE FUN & FASCINATING FALCON FACTS)
• Saturday's game will be Senior Day for the Falcons, with a quartet of fourth-year team members recognized in ceremonies prior to tipoff. That group includes Andrea Cecil, Clare Glowniak, Caterrion Thompson and Jane Uecker.
• The Falcons received stellar performances from numerous players in Wednesday night's 82-68 win over MAC East Division-leading Ohio University. Sophomore Kadie Hempfling recorded 15 assists, shattering the Stroh Center record and tying for the second-highest single-game total in school history.
• Junior Madisen Parker made seven three-pointers – just one shy of tying the school record – en route to a game-high 21 points vs. the Bobcats. It marked the third time this season that Parker has hit seven long-distance shots.
• Freshman Olivia Trice exploded for a career-high 17 points, going 6-for-8 from the field, hitting three long-range shots and adding six rebounds. Trice's previous career scoring high was nine points, in the Falcons' first 2019-20 meeting with Ohio.
• Senior Clare Glowniak continued her red-hot shooting, going 4-for-4 for the second consecutive game. Glowniak had a then season-high five points at Western Michigan (Feb. 19) before scoring eight vs. both Buffalo (Feb. 22) and Ohio. Glowniak is 10-for-11 from the field over that three-game stretch.
THE GOLDEN FLASHES
• Kent State is 16-10 overall, and the Golden Flashes are in second place in the MAC's East Division with a 9-6 mark in league action. The Flashes have won four of the last five games (with the lone loss coming at undefeated Central Michigan), including a 68-50 home win over Akron on Wednesday night.
• KSU is 9-3 at home, 5-5 on the road and 2-2 in neutral-site matchups this year to date. In MAC action, the Flashes are 6-2 in home games and 3-4 in hostile venues.
• Asiah Dingle leads an incredibly balanced attack with 13.5 ppg, and Dingle is one of five Flashes averaging over 11 points per game. Nila Blackford has 13.1 ppg and a team-leading 7.9 rpg. Lindsay Thall (11.2 ppg) leads the team in both three-point field goals made and blocked shots, with 54 of each.
• Head coach Todd Starkey welcomed back 10 letterwinners, including four starters, from a 2018-19 Golden Flash team that finished with a 20-13 overall record and an 11-7 MAC mark.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons lead Kent State, 56-36, in the all-time series, but the Golden Flashes have captured the last two meetings. Earlier this month (Feb. 5, 2020), the Flashes pulled away in the second half en route to a 61-47 win at the M.A.C. Center.
• BG and KSU split the regular-season series last year, with two free throws in the final seconds breaking a tie and lifting KSU to a home win, 77-73 (Feb. 16, 2019), before BGSU downed the Flashes, 62-49 at the Stroh (March 2, 2019). But, nine days later, host KSU topped the Falcons by an 86-62 count in the first round of the MAC Tournament (March 11, 2019).
• BGSU is 28-12 in home games (including 7-2 in the Stroh), 21-22 on the road and 7-2 at neutral sites vs. the Flashes over the years.
DOWN THE ROAD
• Following the KSU game, the Falcons will wrap up the regular-season schedule with a pair of road matches next week, facing Miami Wednesday night (March 4) and Akron Saturday afternoon (March 7).
• Then, the MAC Tournament begins with first-round games at campus sites on Monday, March 9.
