BGSU Drops Sunday Finale At Saint Louis

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. -- The Bowling Green State University baseball team wrapped up its three-game series at Saint Louis University on Sunday (March 8) afternoon. The Falcons were defeated in the series finale by a score of 9-2. The Billikens grabbed all three games in the non-conference series.
Trent Farquhar led the Bowling Green offense, as his two-run double in the second inning pulled the Falcons within a single run at 3-2. However, SLU countered with a four-run third to take a 7-2 advantage. The Billikens completed the game's scoring with runs in the sixth and eighth innings.
BGSU also received hits from Jake Wilson, Adam Furnas, Nick Neibauer and Jack Krause. Neibauer and Tyler Haas worked two walks each.
Bowling Green's bullpen of David Stopp, Will MacLean, Nathan Lohmeier and Andrew Oehmke combined to allow just two earned runs over the final 5.2 innings of the ballgame. Lohmeier worked 1.2 innings on the hill, allowing just one hit while striking out two batters.
The Falcons will play four games on the road next week at Youngstown State (March 10) and North Alabama (March 13-15). Bowling Green then returns to Steller Field at Gary Haas Stadium for the first time this season. BGSU will play Central Michigan in a non-league game on March 17, prior to a MAC-opening series at home versus Ohio (March 20-22).
