Senior Macie Linne earned three of the six core value awards, which are voted on by the team and represent the program as a whole, being the Love Award, Unity Award and Communication Award. The Love Award represents choosing to build relationships and serve others, the Unity Award represents together as one and the Communication Award represents honest and direct exchange and deliberate nonverbal behaviors. Despite only playing in five matches this year, Linne found other ways to contribute and embodied the core values of the team.Â

Kerstie Shaw also collected multiple team awards, being given both the Excellence Award as well as the Hard Work Award. The Excellence Award represents becoming 1% better every day while the Hard Work Award represents purposefully giving your best effort. Over the course of the season, Shaw appeared in all 33 matches for the Falcons in which she totaled a career-high 215 digs as well as a career-high 18 aces. Off the court, Shaw was named Academic All-MAC.Â

For the second consecutive year, the Competitiveness Award was presented to Katie Kidwell. The Competitiveness Award represents playing to win with a warrior spirit. Kidwell played in all 33 matches for the Falcons, earning MAC Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 18. During the season, Kidwell tallied a team-high 146 blocks, which ranked 25th in the nation. Kidwell also added her name to the record book for single season block assists, logging 125 for the second time in her career.Â

This year's Pat Peterson Academic Award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA over the spring and fall semesters, was given to Hanna Laube who maintained a 4.0 GPA while majoring in history. Laube was also named Academic All-MAC and was just one of four athletes in the conference to maintain a 4.0 GPA. On the court, she totaled 144 assists while appearing in 18 matches, including a season-high 27 assists against Akron on Nov. 9.Â

For her contributions in the community and volunteerism, Katelyn Meyer was presented with the Outstanding Community Service Award. Meyer spent time working with the Special Olympics, Sibs & Kids, Firefly Nights, Crop Walk for Hunger Awareness and the Falcon Sports Festival. On the court, Meyer was named All-MAC First Team while logging a career-high 459 kills on 1,374 attack attempts, the third most in a single season in program history.Â

The volleyball program also presented the Bill J. Lloyd Supporter of the Year Award to Rebecca Ferguson. "Rebecca is a loyal supporter of BGSU Athletics who has made a positive impact on our program for many years," said Coach Tomic. "Her financial contributions along with her unwavering support have helped us build a championship program. Thank you, Rebecca!"

The final two awards presented were Awards of Appreciation, given to Caitlin Shortridge, the Director of Volleyball Operations, and to Santiago Segura, the team's Athletic Trainer. Caitlin concluded her second year with the program and Santiago his third, while both have dedicated numerous hours of time and effort to the volleyball program.
