Volleyball Picked To Win MAC Tournament In Preseason Poll

Cleveland, Ohio - The 2020-21 Mid-American Conference Volleyball Preseason Poll was released on Thursday morning (Jan. 21). Bowling Green was picked to finish second in the East Division, as voted on by the conference's 12 head coaches. However, the Falcons did receive the most first place votes in the East division with five. Bowling Green also received the most votes to win the MAC Tournament with five votes there as well.
Miami was picked to win the East Division with Central Michigan being picked to win the MAC West. In the East, Miami received 62 points and four first place votes while Bowling Green tallied 60 points and five first place votes. Ohio also received three first place votes and a total of 55 points. In the West, Central Michigan collected seven of the first place votes and totaled 67 points with Ball State taking the other five first place votes with 64 points.
The Falcons also saw one player named to the Preseason All-MAC Team, being Katelyn Meyer. Meyer has ended the season as a member of the All-MAC First Team each of her first two years, being both the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Last year, no Falcons were selected to the Preseason All-MAC Team.
After falling short in the MAC Tournament Championship a year ago in five sets, the Falcons were selected to win the tournament this year with five votes. No other team received more than two. Bowling Green will begin their season this weekend by hosting Northern Illinois. The full preview release and game notes can be found HERE.
