Indrova And Laube Earn MAC Player Of The Week Honors

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced Monday (Oct. 18) the MAC honors for volleyball for the past week of competition. Bowling Green junior Petra Indrova was named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week and Bowling Green senior Hanna Laube was named MAC East Setter of the Week. This is the third time Indrova has been recognized this season, and first time in October. Laube has been selected five times this season, including each of the last four weeks. As a team, the Falcons have had multiple weekly recipients five times.
MAC Volleyball East Division Offensive Player of the Week
Petra Indrova, Bowling Green, Opposite Hitter
Petra Indrova logged a double-double on Thursday and recorded 14 kills on Saturday to help the Bowling Green Falcons extend their winning streak to nine. Indrova registered 12 kills and 12 digs while hitting .306 on Thursday. She also tallied four block assists, helping the Falcons sweep Central Michigan. On Saturday, Indrova landed 14 kills, including seven in the opening set, as the Falcons swept their sixth consecutive conference match. Indrova, who swung .333 or higher in five sets this week, also recorded seven digs and three block assists on Saturday.
MAC Volleyball East Division Setter of the Week
Hanna Laube, Setter, Bowling Green, Setter
Laube ran an efficient Bowling Green offense that saw multiple career-best performances as the Falcons swept Central Michigan twice. On Thursday, Laube logged 37 assists, including 15 in the final set. Katelyn Meyer registered a career-best .517 attack percentage on the day, with Laube assisting on 14 of her 16 kills. On Saturday, Laube tallied 38 assists, tying her second-best three-set total of the season. Once again, Laube registered 15 assists in the final set, helping the Falcons swing .400. Kat Mandly registered career-bests in kills (17) and hitting percentage (.467), with Laube assisting on 14 of those. Laube also totaled two kills, two blocks, and 11 digs as the Falcons pushed their win streak to nine.

The Falcons play three times this week, beginning with a match at Miami on Wednesday at 7 p.m. BGSU returns to the Stroh Center at 6 p.m. on Friday, hosting Eastern Michigan. The teams will play on Saturday as well, beginning at 5 p.m.
