Falcons To Compete In Shirley Spork EMU Invitational

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Bowling Green women's golf team will take part in the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational this week in Ypsilanti, Mich., hosted by Eastern Michigan. For the Falcons, the event will mark the fifth of the season with one more remaining on the fall slate after the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational before pausing until February.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72 Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Mich. The 6,175-yard course will see players play 36 holes on Monday in a continuous play setup before completing the final round on Tuesday with the last 18 holes. Both days are currently set for 9 a.m. shotgun starts.
Shirley Spork EMU Invitational
The Shirley Spork EMU Invitational course will play host to 11 teams for the event. In addition to Bowling Green and host Eastern Michigan, the Mid-American Conference will be represented by Akron, Central Michigan, Ohio and Western Michigan. The rest of the field will include Dayton, Detroit Mercy, Green Bay, Oakland and Youngstown State.

Falcon Notes
- The Falcons have performed well at the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational in the past, winning the event as a team in 2018 with a score of 592, being just two rounds. Individually, Jessica Madry paced the Orange and Brown with a first place finish of her own, concluding the event with a score of 141.
- Junior Amanda Meltich will be competing in her first event of the season for the Falcons. Meltich's last event came at the Dolores Black Invitational last spring where she tied for 44th.
