Hanna Laube Named CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2021 Division I Academic All-American volleyball teams on Wednesday, Dec. 15. Bowling Green senior setter Hanna Laube was selected Third Team Academic All-American, the first Academic All-American honor of her career. She is just the second player in Bowling Green volleyball history to be named Academic All-American.
Laube played in all 30 matches for the Falcons this season, registering 1,088 assists. She averaged 10.77 assists per set, ranking 26th in the NCAA. She also tallied 178 digs, 41 kills, 42 blocks, and 19 aces. She has earned MAC East Setter of the Week honors six times and logged five double-doubles this year. In October, Laube surpassed the 2,000-career assist mark. In the MAC Championship, Laube recorded career-bests in assists (67) and digs (16).
Laube is a native of Burlington, Ontario. She is majoring in History and maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA. In November, Laube was named CoSIDA First Team All-District in District 5, a region that includes Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. She is one of just 21 players in the NCAA to be named CoSIDA Academic All-American. Laube joins Linda Popovich as the only players in program history to be named Academic All-American. Popovich was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Team three times, from 1987-89.
