Katelyn Meyer Named MAC East Offensive Player Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced Monday (Feb. 1) the MAC Honors for volleyball for the past week of competition. Of those named, Bowling Green's Katelyn Meyer earned the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week honor for the second consecutive week to begin the season. This comes after the Falcons completed a weekend sweep over Western Michigan to advance to 4-0 on the season.
For the second straight weekend Meyer paced the Falcons in kills in the series sweep over Western Michigan, winning both matches by a score of 3-0. Meyer began the series with 19 kills on Thursday (Jan. 28) before following it up with 12 kills in the second match on Saturday (Jan. 29). In addition to leading the team in kills, Meyer tallied eight digs, three blocks and an ace as well.
The Orange and Brown will return to action this coming week at the Stroh Center as they prepare to host Miami on Thursday and Friday (Feb. 4 and 5). Miami will enter the series 3-1 to face the 4-0 Falcons. Thursday's match is set for a 6 p.m. start while Friday will begin at 5 p.m. while both matches will be streamed on an ESPN platform.
