BGVB Inks Hedda Broberg To NLI
February 03, 2021 | Volleyball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University volleyball program and head coach Danijela Tomic have announced the signing of Hedda Broberg to a National Letter of Intent. Broberg comes to Bowling Green from Nykoping, Sweden and is set to join the Falcons as a freshman this coming fall.
"We are thrilled to welcome Hedda to our program," said Coach Tomic. "She brings valuable experience playing at a high level in the top Swedish league and the national team. She is a dynamic and technically sound middle blocker who will add depth to that position on our team and have a chance to make an immediate impact. Moreover, Hedda is a great teammate, hard-working, mature, and competitive player whose values align with our program's values"

Broberg has been a member of top teams in Sweden for a few years now, beginning as a member of the team that was a finalist at the U-17 Northern European Championship in 2017. The following year, Broberg was elevated to the U-19 and helped lead the team to a first place finish in the Northern European Championship. During the 2020 season, she was a member of Team Lidingo, which was a finalist in the Swedish U-20 Championship. Broberg also went on to be a finalist in the Swedish Grand Prix Cup with EVS in 2021. Additionally, she was a member of the Swedish junior and senior National Teams.
Broberg also collected a handful of individual recognitions and awards, consisting of three different MVP awards in 2020 with EVS. Those included the Lindesberg Swedish Elitserien MVP, the RIG Falkoping Swedish Elitserien MVP and the Linkoping Swedish Elitserien MVP.
The daughter of Jesper and Asa Wolgast Broberg, Hedda has one sister, Tora. Currently, undecided on a major, Hedda has ambitions of playing volleyball professionally.
"I chose BGSU for many reasons," said Broberg. "Some are its winning culture and high ambitions. BGSU has a strong volleyball program with a supportive coaching staff and nice players along with it. The volleyball program also has a lot of international players which creates a great mix of cultures. I feel like BGSU is a place where I can grow both as a person and player and that's why I chose BGSU."
