BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The No. 13 Bowling Green State University hockey hosted Northern Michigan for the final game of the three-game series between the two teams in the WCHA Quarterfinals on Sunday (March 14). After Northern Michigan won on Friday night (March 12), the Falcons won on Saturday (March 13) to force the third game of the series. In the end, Northern Michigan walked away with a 5-1 final. Sam Craggs scored the lone goal for the Falcons in the contest while senior goalie Eric Dop made 29 saves in net. The Falcons will close out the season with a 20-10-1 record and will await tournament play's conclusion for NCAA Tournament selection to see if their season will continue.

Scoring Plays

In the first period Northern Michigan scored the first goal, coming from Vincent de Mey with assists from Connor Marritt and David Keefer.
The Wildcats added another score in the first period, this one from Mikey Colella with assists from Andre Ghantous and Joseph Nardi.
In the second period on a power play Northern Michigan added another score, this one from Joseph Nardi with assists from Michael Van Unen and A.J. Vanderbeck.
The Falcons soon answered with a power play goal of their own seeing Sam Craggs net the score with help from Evan Dougherty and Alex Barber on the assists.
In the third period Northern Michigan added a power play score from Colella with assists from Ghantous and Vanderbeck.
After the Falcons pulled their goalie in the third period, Ben Newhouse sent the puck the length of the ice for an empty-net score.
