Kowalczyk Named MAC Player of the Week

Sophomore goalkeeper earns honor after keeping two clean sheets last week
Bowling Green State University men's soccer standout Logan Kowalczyk has been named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week. The league office made the announcement on Monday afternoon (March 22). Kowalczyk earns the honor for the first time in his Falcon career.
Kowalczyk, a native of Pinckney, Mich. (Gahanna [Ohio] Lincoln), had a 2-0-0 record and a goals-against average of 0.00 last week, as the Falcons posted a pair of 1-0 wins on the road. Kowalczyk made three saves in a Wednesday victory at West Virginia, then had three more stops in a Sunday-afternoon win at Northern Illinois.
In fact, Kowalczyk and the Falcons now have kept clean sheets in each of the last three matches. BGSU defeated SIUE, 1-0 in overtime, at Cochrane Stadium prior to going on the road and picking up two more 1-0 wins.
On the season, Kowalczyk has a GAA of 0.71. In MAC matches, he has a record of 3-1-0 and a GAA of just 0.49, with three shutouts In four conference contests.
Kowalczyk and the Falcons (5-3-0, 3-1-0 MAC) return home for a Sunday (March 28) rematch with WVU. That contest will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Cochrane, and live stats and a free video stream of the match will be available.
