
Zaresha Neal Sparks Falcons At Oliver Nikoloff Invite In Cincinnati

Cincinnati, Ohio – Bowling Green State University redshirt junior Zaresha Neal won the discus and placed second in the shot put as the BGSU Outdoor Track & Field team continued progressing towards the postseason with strong performances at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, hosted by the University of Cincinnati.
Neal posted the second-best mark in school history in the discus and ranks among the top 25 in the nation as she earned one of two event titles for the Falcons. Senior Chasatea Brown picked up the other win in the 400 hurdles.

INTO THE RECORD BOOKS
- Zaresha Neal set a new personal best distance in the discus with a throw of 173-feet-8 (52.94m). That distance is first in the MAC and among the top 10 in the east region entering the weekend. It would also place her in the top 25 in the country.
- Redshirt junior Brianna Richard also moved into the record books with a top performance in the triple jump. She leaped 39-5.25 (12.02m) for a new personal best and the ninth-best effort in school history. She now ranks No. 4 among all individuals in the program's history.
TOP THREE FINISHES
- BGSU earned eight top three finishes over the weekend as the Falcons battled Cincinnati, Miami (Ohio), Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Northern Kentucky and Xavier.
- Senior Chasatea Brown ran a season-best 1:02.60 in the 400 hurdles to win the event.
- Along with her title in the discus, Zaresha Neal placed second in the shot put at 50-2 (15.29m).
- Bowling Green's 400 relay team ran a 46.33 to finish second.
- On Friday, Kaila Butler threw the hammer 204-9 (62.41m) to place second.
- Destiny Fernandes finished second in the high jump with a clearance of 5-1 (1.55m).
- Savannah Nevels placed third in the 100, running the sprint in 12.07 seconds.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- In the 200, BGSU earned a trio of personal or season bests. Tianna Mulligan (25.30) and Kennedi Gephart (25.42) posted PRs while Jazzlynn Gaiters (25.81) recorded a season-best.
- Gaiters also posted a season-best time in the 400 with a time of 57.63 seconds.
- The Falcons also had three personal or season-bests in the 1500. Riley Robertson (4:50.77) and Megan Aalberts (4:55.52) recorded new personal bests, while Jessi Lindstrom (4:53.40) had a season-best.
- In the 100 hurdles, Destiny Fernandes set a new PR with a time of 15.40 seconds. Katherine Mendenhall did the same at 15.68 seconds.
- Elise Johnson recorded a personal best in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 11:32.73.
- Reagan Emberton posted a pair of new career bests, doing so in the hammer throw (123-3 / 37.58m) and the discus (131-11 / 40.22m).
- In the triple jump, Chloe Amoroso recorded a personal best distance of 35-3 (10.74m).
