Furnas, Meyer Named Medical Mutual Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Medical Mutual Athletes of the Week, as selected by the strategic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Adam Furnas and volleyball player Katelyn Meyer.

Male Athlete of the Week
Adam Furnas, a senior from Bowling Green, Ohio, hit .500 at the plate this weekend in Bowling Green's home series versus Kent State, recording a hit in all four games, going 6-for-12 with three runs and two RBI. The native of Bowling Green, Ohio started at first base in all four games. Furnas, who also draw a walk in all four ballgames, notched two hits apiece on Sunday (April 5) and in the first game of Saturday's (April 4) doubleheader. Furnas is hitting .342 on the season with a very strong on-base percentage of .489.

Female Athlete of the Week

Katelyn Meyer, a junior from Pemberville, Ohio was awarded the MAC Volleyball Tournament MVP award following the Falcons' MAC Tournament Championship. In the first match of the tournament, being a five-set win over Miami, Meyer totaled a team-high 19 kills for the Falcons. As for the Championship match against Western Michigan, being four sets, Meyer tallied 16 kills.
