• Over the final three quarters, the BG defense held the Chippewas to just a 26.1% success rate. Central made only 12 of 46 total shots in the game's last 30 minutes.
BONUS NOTE OF THE NIGHT
• The Falcons' total of 92 points on Wednesday night marked the team's highest output in a MAC game in nearly 11 years.
• BGSU scored 92 points in a win over Buffalo on March 2, 2011, winning by the identical score (92-68) as on Wednesday. That UB contest was the BGSU women's basketball program's final game at venerable Anderson Arena.
QUOTING COACH FRALICK
"I'm really proud of our team tonight. We were coming off of a pretty significant break, and we haven't really gotten a whole lot of time together. I was very proud of our effort, our 'teamness' and our balance tonight."
FIRST QUARTER
• With both teams down a starter, the game was tied twice in the first few minutes. Kadie Hempfling scored the Falcons' first two buckets of the night, scoring inside after feeds from Kenzie Lewis and Amy Velasco, respectively. Then, after a defensive rebound by Hempfling, the home team was off and running as Velasco found Elissa Brett for a transition layup. Then, Hempfling took a Morgan Sharps pass and connected from the arc for a 9-4 lead.
• CMU battled back, tying the game on Hanna Knoll's three-pointer, but Lewis hit Sophie Dziekan for a layup, then found Velasco for a triple. Jocelyn Tate's spinning layup gave BG a 16-11 lead, and after a Molly Davis trey, Lewis spotted up and hit a three-point try of her own.
• Davis, who scored 11-straight CMU points during the quarter, knocked down a floater to get the visitors within three points, 19-16, at the evening's first media timeout. BGSU's last three points of the period came at the free-throw line, but Karrington Gordon's trey cut the Falcons' lead to one, 22-21, after 10 minutes.
• Davis had 13 points in the first quarter, going 6-of-8 from the floor.
SECOND QUARTER
• After the teams traded free throws, Velasco put back her own miss, but Lisa Tesson's three-point play tied the game, 25-25, with just over two minutes gone in the period.
• But, Velasco converted a driving layup with the shot clock winding down, and Hempfling combined with Brett on back-to-back buckets in the paint. First, Brett spotted Hempfling for a layup after an inbounds pass, then Hempfling returned the favor, finding Brett for a layup and a 31-25 lead as CMU used a timeout.
• Davis hit a three-pointer, but Velasco knocked down two shots at the stripe, and a Brett putback gave BG a seven-point advantage. Tate followed with a layup, and the freshman hit a pair of charity tosses moments later. When Lewis converted a three-point play with 2:39 left before the break, BGSU had a double-digit lead for the first time.
• Lewis made two more tosses, and after CMU scored four-straight points, a Tate layup was followed by a Hempfling three-point play. Her free throw with 55.8 seconds on the clock gave BGSU a 49-36 lead at the half.
• BGSU had an 18-2 advantage in points in the paint in the second quarter alone.
THIRD QUARTER
• A lengthy third quarter saw a combined 18 fouls called, and the Chippewas (15) and Falcons (12) shot a total of 27 free throws. BGSU had a 29-23 advantage on the scoreboard during that 10-minute stretch of game time (and 40-plus-minute stretch of actual time), taking a 19-point lead after three periods.
• Sharps hit back-to-back three-point tries, but Central scored six-straight points to creep back within 10. moments later, a three-ball from Davis made it an eight-point game.
• But, the Falcons scored eight consecutive points, with six coming at the line. Tate, Madisen Parker and Brett each went 2-for-2 at the stripe during that 80-second stretch, with Hempfling adding a driving layup. Brett's shots gave BG a 66-50 lead midway through the quarter.
• After Anika Weekes hit a free throw to stop that run, Sharps took a Lewis pass and hit a corner three. A Parker triple, a Zoe Miller layup and another Parker long-range shot gave the Falcons a 77-55 lead before CMU cut the margin to 19 points after three periods.
• Sharps had 10 points in the third quarter, going a perfect 3-for-3 from the arc during that period. Parker had eight points on 2-of-2 long-range shooting in the quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
• After a slow-scoring start to the final period, a Lewis free throw and a Miller putback gave the Falcons an 81-59 lead with just over two minutes gone. Rebekah Gordon answered with a bucket, but the resulting 20-point margin was the closest CMU would get  over the remainder of the game.
• On her birthday, Miller had back-to-back three-point plays, and a Dziekan free throw gave the Orange and Brown a 25-point lead with just over four minutes left. Tate's driving layup with 1:49 to go stretched BG's advantage to a game-high 26 points before Carlee Crabtree's layup closed the scoring.
• Miller had 10 of BGSU's 14 points in the fourth quarter, outscoring CMU (nine points) all by herself in that period.
