Additionally, fans and media should stay home if feeling ill, showing any symptoms of COVID-19, or think they may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
WELCOME BACK! DON'T FORGET TO WEAR ORANGE!
• Saturday is Alumnae Day, with former BGSU women's basketball greats invited back to campus to watch their beloved Falcons face the Rockets. As of Thursday, over 40 alums are expected to be in attendance at Saturday's game.

BETWEEN GAMES...

THE OPENING TIP – STREAKS, STORYLINES AND SIDEBARS
• The UT game marks BGSU's fourth game in an eight-day span, and it is the Falcons' fifth contest in 11 days (after BG was idle for the previous 11 days). BG takes on the first-place Rockets after defeating then second-place Western Michigan, 67-51, at the Stroh on Wednesday night (Jan. 26).
• BGSU allowed the Broncos to make just five field goals in the first half as the Falcons took a 39-17 lead into the locker room. The Orange and Brown had 10 steals along with a lopsided 25-7 rebounding advantage in the opening 20 minutes. For the game, the Falcons shot 51% and had a dominant 39-20 lead on the glass.
• Senior Kadie Hempfling hit an 'and-one' jumper midway through the third quarter vs. the Broncos, in the process becoming just the 29th player in BGSU history to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career. Hempfling now has 1,004 points as a Falcon, and ranks second on the school's career list.
• Through Wednesday's win, Morgan Sharps leads the MAC – and is tied for first in the nation – in three-point field-goal percentage. She has hit an even 50% of her long-distance shots this season.
• The win over Western was BG's second victory in a three-day span, after Monday's (Jan. 24) 71-60 win at Eastern Michigan. In that game – the Falcons' first road win of 2021-22 – Hempfling led the Falcons in scoring for the third-straight game, with 19 points vs. the Eagles, while Zoe Miller made her first six shots of the night en route to 14 points of her own.
• BGSU is now 18-7 in MAC regular-season games since the start of the 2020-21 season, after going 8-46 in the previous three seasons (2017-18 to '19-20). That 18-7 record includes an 11-3 mark at the Stroh and a 7-4 ledger in league road games.
• Madisen Parker has made a total of 224 three-point field goals in her career, good for fourth place on that BGSU list. Parker's next target is Tracy Pontius (2007-11), who hit 235 treys in her storied Falcon career.
• Hempfling has now started 105 career games at BGSU, good for 10th place on that BGSU list. Meanwhile, Parker has played in a total of 132 contests, and is tied for fourth in school history on that Falcon chart. Parker is just three games away from tying the school record in that category. If the current schedule does not change and she plays in each game, Parker would tie that BGSU record on Feb. 5 at Ball State and break it four days later (Feb. 9) vs. Northern Illinois at the Stroh.
A QUICK LOOK AT THE ROCKETS
• Toledo is 14-4 on the season, and the Rockets sit atop the MAC standings with a league ledger of 8-1. UT won eight-straight conference games before falling, 79-72, vs. Ohio on Wednesday night. The Rockets are 7-1 at home, 6-2 on the road and 1-1 at neutral sites to date.
• Quinesha Lockett leads the team in scoring, with 17.9 points per game, while Sophia Wiard has 11.4 ppg and a team-leading 4.2 assists per contest. Sammi Mikonowicz had an otherworldly total of 22 rebounds vs. the Bobcats on Wednesday. Head coach Tricia Cullup welcomed back nine letterwinners, including four starters, from a 2020-21 club that went 12-12 overall and 8-12 in the MAC.
THE SERIES
• The Falcons lead Toledo, 44-37, in the all-time series, and BGSU has captured the last two meetings. Last season, the Falcons picked up a 69-57 win in the Glass City (Jan. 16, 2021) and a 76-59 victory at the Stroh Center two weeks later (Jan. 30, 2021). Prior to that, the Rockets had won eight-straight meetings and 11 of 12 matchups with the Orange and Brown. BGSU is 21-13 in home games, 15-21 in road contests and 8-3 in neutral-site affairs vs. the U of T over the years.
• More information on the BGSU-UT series can be found on page 20 of the PDF version of these notes.
DOWN THE ROAD
• Following the Toledo tussle, the Falcons will open the month of February with back-to-back road games. BGSU will head to DeKalb for a Wednesday (Feb. 2) matchup with Northern Illinois, before facing Ball State in Muncie three days later (Feb. 5).
• The Falcons are slated to face NIU on back-to-back Wednesdays, as BG's next home game is Feb. 9 vs. the Huskies. The schedule currently calls for BGSU to play 10 games, including six on the road, during February. Barring any (more) schedule changes, BG's upcoming schedule is as follows...
