Petra Indrova, Senior, Outside Hitter: Player of the Year, All-MAC First Team
Petra Indrova has been named the MAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Indrova is the third Falcon to win the award multiple times, joining Kallie Seimet (2017, 2018) and Tammy Schiller (1990, 1991). Linda Popovich (1989) and Carlyn Esslinger (1995) both earned the award as well, bringing the program tally to eight. Hovey enters the MAC Tournament second on the team in kills (280), second in assists (234), third in blocks (80), fifth in digs (104) and fifth in aces (23). She tallied seven double-doubles and two triple-doubles over the course of the season. Coach Tomic's Take
"We are honored, thrilled, and proud but not surprised that Petra, Lauryn, and Jessica were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the success of our team this season.
Petra is a great all-around player who brings so much value to our team. The fact that she was named the MAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive year and also All-MAC First Team while playing a different position this year speaks volumes about her versatility, but also her team-first attitude. Petra is a player and a leader who makes everyone around her better, is willing to do whatever it takes, and embraces whatever role for the team to be the best it can.
When we recruited Lauryn we knew she would make an immediate impact on our team and would be among the top freshmen in the MAC. She earned and deserved to be named the MAC Freshman of the Year, All-MAC First Team, and the MAC All-Freshman Team for the fantastic work she has done as a right side hitter and setter in her first year as a Falcon. Her skills, athleticism, work ethic, competitiveness and love for the game make Lauryn elite. She is also a great teammate who makes everyone around her better.
We are incredibly proud to have Jessica on the MAC All-Freshman Team and All-MAC Second Team. She brought a new dimension to our middle blocker position, and has been a big factor in our team's success this season. Jessica is a relentless worker who strives to get better every day and her improvement throughout the season has been impressive. She is also a great teammate who puts the team first and lets her actions speak more than words."
