BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Visiting Ohio University, leading by three points at halftime, took control in the third quarter and went on to an 82-69 win over the Bowling Green State University women's basketball team Saturday afternoon (Feb. 19). But, the visitors went on an 8-0 run, with Yaya Felder's layup making it an 11-point game, and the lead never fell below nine points thereafter.

NOTE OF THE DAY
• Saturday was Senior Day at the Stroh Center, with the three seniors in the program recognized in ceremonies prior to tipoff. That trio included Molly Dever, Kadie Hempfling and Madisen Parker.
QUOTING COACH FRALICK
"It was disappointing to lose on Senior Night. Those are kids that we love and adore, and we were hoping we could have a great game for them, so that was disappointing. We just had such a hard time getting stops. Once again, we have a very fast turnaround, so we've got to learn and get ready for the next one."
FIRST QUARTER
• The lead changed hands several times in the early going. Morgan Sharps took a Nyla Hampton pass and hit a second-chance three-pointer, and Sharps drilled another triple try on the Falcons' next trip. When Sharps drove and dished to Kenzie Lewis for a layup, the home team had an 8-7 lead.
• Amy Velasco scored off of a Lewis inbounds pass, and a Jocelyn Tate driving layup gave the Falcons a 12-10 lead. Madisen Parker took a Velasco pass and hit from long distance for a 15-12 BG advantage.
• The officials initially ruled that a BGSU three-pointer with the shot clock winding down had beaten the buzzer, but a review at the end of the period nullified that triple.
• Parker hit a corner three and completed the four-point play (her second in as many home games), and Sharps converted a driving baseline layup in the final seconds of the period, giving the Falcons a 21-19 lead after 10 minutes.
SECOND QUARTER
• Lewis fed Kadie Hempfling for a layup and a 23-21 Falcon advantage, but Erica Johnson's three-pointer sparked a 7-0 run for the 'Cats, with a Gabby Burris layup giving the visitors a 28-23 lead at the 6:32 mark.
• Sharps found Tate for a layup, but Cece Hooks scored the game's next four points. Parker and Sharps knocked down three-point tries on back-to-back BGSU possessions, with the latter shot cutting Ohio's lead to 32-31, and after Erica Johnson hit a pair of free throws, another Sharps trey tied the score with 3:13 left in the half.
• But, Burris came right back with a three-ball, and Yaya Felder's transition layup gave the 'Cats a 39-34 lead. Velasco answered with a long-distance make, and moments later, Hempfling connected from the arc to cut BG's deficit to a single point, before a Burris layup capped the first-half scoring
THIRD QUARTER
• Lewis found Hempfling for another triple in the opening minute of the second half, but the visitors responded with six-straight points, including a Madi Mace layup that gave the Bobcats a 49-43 lead.
• Velasco hit a shot from the arc to cut that lead in half, but a pair of Burris free throws began an 8-0 run that gave the visitors a double-digit advantage, 57-46, with three-plus minutes left in the period.
• Hempfling's free throws snapped a three-and-a-half minute scoring drought for the Falcons, but Kaylee Bambule's long-range shot made it a 12-point margin. Sharps knocked down a triple, but Johnson responded with back-to-back shots from the arc, and the 'Cats had a 66-51 lead after 30 minutes.

FOURTH QUARTER
• Three-pointers by Burris and Felder enabled Ohio to open up a 21-point lead, the largest of the day, early in the fourth quarter. Sharps, Hempfling and Hampton all scored as the Falcons scored the next six points, and another Hampton hoop got the Falcons within 13 points with just over four minutes left. But, BGSU could get no closer.
• A pair of Velasco charity tosses made it a 13-point game once again, but the Bobcats had an answer for every BGSU bucket, and the Falcons could draw no closer than 13 the rest of the way.
