Falcons Look to Finish Season Strong at National Invite Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team will be heading to Elkhart, Indiana for the National Swimming Invite Championships this week. The meet will start tomorrow March 10^th and conclude on March 12^th.

Senior Kellie House is fresh off a Second Team All-MAC selection after competition at MAC Championships two weeks ago. House finished second in the conference in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 16:44.11, which was fast enough for the second fastest time in program history. Earlier in the week House finished 4^th in the MAC with a time of 4:52.09 which again was the second fastest time in the event in school history.

Breaststroke swimmer Taylor Harris is two weeks removed from a very eventful MAC Championships. Harris tied with another swimmer in the prelims in the 100 Breaststroke leading to a swim off for the final spot in the championship final. After narrowly winning the spot in the final Harris went on to finish 7^th in the conference later in the night. The most impressive part of the series of events was that Harris went on to swim a faster time each time she swam the 100 Breaststroke and thanks to that effort now holds the 4^th(1.02.22), 6^th(1.02.72), and 7^th (1:03.02) fastest times in the event in program history. Harris was also a part of the 200 and 400 Medley Relay teams that each set a program record in school history.

Falcon Freshman Fabiana D'Ambrogio also had a strong showing during the MAC Championships. D'Ambrogio finished 8^th in the conference in the 100 Butterfly in her first MAC Championship appearance with a time of 2:02.68. That time put Fabiana as the 8^th fastest time in school history and earlier in the day during prelims D'Ambrogio earned the school's 4^th fastest time in the event (2:01.39).
