Scouting The Rockets
Toledo comes in riding an 11- game win streak with their last loss coming in a 10-6 game against Kent State on April 15. Quickly finding their feet back beneath them, they swept the remainder of that series and then swept the next two as well (Eastern Michigan and Austin Peay) before a mid-week win over Miami (OH). Their recent form puts the Rockets up to 26-17 overall and 17-11 within the Mid-American Conference.
Against Toledo All-Time
The Bowling Green Falcons baseball program has a long and storied history playing against the Rockets. The current record between the two has the Falcons ahead 130-96. The last time the Rockets came down to Bowling Green, the Falcons walked away with a weekend sweep back in 2019. The Falcons were able to put on a great offensive show, putting up 25 total runs in the three-game series.
Quick Facts
Last Time Out
The Falcons are coming off of a hard fought series against Eastern Michigan that saw the Eagles take three of the four games.
Eastern Michigan was able to complete a 6-5 walk-off win in game one. EMU quickly jumped ahead to a 4-1 lead before a three-run sixth-inning comeback and a one-run seventh put the Falcons in the lead. The Eagles were able to squeeze in for the win with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. BGSU totaled nine hits with Nathan Rose having a great day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two walks and an RBI.
Game two was all about pitcher Andrew Abrahamowicz who threw a stellar game on the mound to edge out Eastern Michigan for a 2-1 win. Abrahamowicz tossed a seven-inning complete game with no earned runs and four strikeouts to improve his record to 2-2 on the season. At the plate, the Falcons were led by Adam Furnas having a 2-for-3 day with an RBI and a run scored to help Bowling Green tie up the series at one game apiece.
Game three was a close one until a two-run eighth inning for Eastern Michigan. Going down 4-1 by the third inning, the Falcons were able to score two in the seventh from a two-RBI double by Tyler Ross. The momentum was halted by the Eagles putting the final runs across the board in the eighth inning. The game ended in a narrow 6-3 loss for Bowling Green.
Game four was a 19-4 loss for the Falcons after an explosive offensive showing for the Eagles to take the series 3-1 against BGSU.
