All Six Signees Ranked As Top 75 Player In Respective State By Prep Baseball Report
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball team and Head Coach Kyle Hallock announced the signing of six players on Wednesday (Nov. 12) as part of National Signing Day. The Falcons will welcome two right-handed pitchers, two catchers, an infielder and a two-way player that will join Bowling Green next fall ahead of the 2027 season. Each player in the class is ranked by Prep Baseball Report as a Top 75 overall player in their respective home state.Â
"First off, thank you to Matt Rembielak and Jordan Barchus for their hard work in assembling another high-end recruiting class for our program," said Hallock. "We are fortunate to have identified and secured another group of talented student-athletes that fit the Bowling Green Baseball profile. Each of these recruits are high achievers in the classroom, in their respective communities and on the diamond. They all approach the game with the work ethic necessary to be successful in our program and maintain our championship standards."
Jack Andes - OF/RHP, R/R (North Canton, Ohio / Hoover HS)
A 5-foot-11 outfielder and right-handed pitcher, Jack Andes will arrive to the Falcons from Hoover High School in North Canton, Ohio. Andes is coming off a First Team All-Ohio selection in 2025 after recording five saves on the mound while slashing.323/.425/.427 at the plate. Over his career, he's added two First Team All-District selections and two First Team All-League honors. On the mound, he's accumulated a 9-1 record with 83 strikeouts. As for at the plate, he's hit over .320 the last two seasons while swiping a total of 75 stolen bases. Andes is currently the No. 7 ranked outfielder in the state of Ohio by Prep Baseball Report.Â
Coach Hallock's Take:
"Jack is a talented multisport athlete. We evaluated him as the top two-way player in Ohio. With Jack, there's not much he can't do on a baseball field because he has the rare combination of strength and elite speed. He possesses a winning mentality as proven by his team's successes in both football and baseball. We look forward to seeing the type of impact he is going to have on the mound and at the plate for us as a Falcon."
Carson Balls - C/UTIL, L/R (Sanford, Fla. / Orangewood Christian)Â
A 5-foot-10 catcher and utility player, Carson Balls comes to the Falcons from Orangewood Christian in Sanford, Florida. A team captain for the Rams, Balls worked to earn All-District and All-Region honors last season. He's also maintained a batting average north of .300 in each of his high school seasons, including a .350 mark last season. Balls comes with a collegiate baseball pedigree. His uncle, Kaylen Gibson, pitched for Kentucky. Additionally, both of his parents attended BGSU.Â
Coach Hallock's Take:
"Carson is a versatile athlete with a smooth left-handed swing that drives both gaps. Carson is a really good catcher but has the ability to impact a defense from a variety of different positions. He has led his high school team to deep tournament runs in the baseball-rich state of Florida, so his leadership skills are ready right now. We are excited to see what Carson is able to bring to our program during his career at BGSU."
Drew Jones - INF, R/R (Lakewood, Ohio / Lakewood HS)
A 6-foot-3 infielder, Drew Jones arrives in Bowling Green from Lakewood, Ohio. Jones aided the Rangers to a regional semifinals appearance, posting a record of 23-8 during the 2025 campaign. On an individual level, he was named First Team All-State as well as All-District following the season. Jones is currently the No. 2 ranked third baseman and No. 40 overall player in the state of Ohio by Prep Baseball Report. Â
Coach Hallock's Take:
"Drew is a physical corner infielder from northeast Ohio. He has shown elite bat speed and plus power for his age. Drew has the chance to become a difference-making threat offensively once he gets to work with Coach Rembielak and Coach Barchus regularly. He has good hands, a strong arm and a quick first step defensively. Drew is going to be a really good player throughout his time at Bowling Green State University."
Jaden Saavedra – C, R/R (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon East)
A 5-foot-9 catcher from South Lyon, Michigan, Jaden Saavedra comes to Bowling Green from South Lyon, Michigan. A team captain for the Cougars, Saavedra helped lead the team to a district semifinals appearance in 2024. He was also named All-Conference at the conclusion of the 2024 campaign. Saavedra is currently the No. 2 ranked catcher and No. 29 overall player in the state of Michigan by Prep Baseball Report.
Coach Hallock's Take:
"Jaden is a high energy, athletic catcher who really competes at a level we don't see often at the high school level. He has a unique passion for the game. We felt he was the most complete catcher coming out of Michigan in this class. Jaden is physically gifted offensively with twitch in the swing and lateral quickness defensively. The way he plays from the catcher position fits the personality of our team here at BGSU."Â
Harrison Schneider - RHP, R/R (Amherst, Ohio / Amherst Steele)
A 6-foot-4 right-handed pitcher, Harrison Schneider will join the Falcons from Amherst, Ohio. With the Comets, Schneider put together an impressive resume both individually and as a team. He captained Amherst Steele to conference, district and regional titles while finishing as the state runner-up. On an individual level, he was named First Team All-Ohio as well as the Lorain County Player of the Year. Statistically in 2025, Schneider posted a 9-0 record, striking out 69 batters over 60.2 innings of work with a 1.38 ERA. Schneider is currently the No. 26 ranked overall player in the state of Ohio by Prep Baseball Report.
Coach Hallock's Take:
"Harrison is a winner. Harrison's resume over the first three years in terms of accomplishments stacks up with anyone in the state of Ohio. He commands multiple pitches for strikes and doesn't get rattled in the big moments. In fact, he just gets better when the stakes are at the highest. He's got the rare combination of pitchability and projectability. We look forward to Harrison putting it all together during his career with us."
Jackson Urenovitch - RHP, R/R (Whitehouse, Ohio / Anthony Wayne)
A 6-foot-3 right-handed pitcher, Jackson Urenovitch comes to the Falcons from Anthony Wayne High School in nearby Whitehouse, Ohio. During his time with the Generals, Urenovitch has helped the team to a League title, a District championship, a regional title and a D-II state championship. Urenovitch earned an All-District honor individually. He also comes from a sports family. His brother, Grant, played football at Kent State while his father, Joseph, played basketball at West Chester.Â
Coach Hallock's Take:
"Jackson is a well-rounded competitor that controls the flow of a game from the mound. He came up clutch for Anthony Wayne with a gutsy victory in the state championship game. Jackson is another multisport athlete that will get you fifteen rebounds in a basketball game or throw you seven shutout innings on the diamond to get his team a win. He will continue our trend of local pitchers having success as a Falcon."
